Design Challenge:
The desire is for the Pier to be visited in greater numbers. This brief is for a design competition to bring renewed vigor to the Pier Head. In conjunction with this, the Council aims to reinvigorate the Pier entrance and the shore- end platform but it is the Pier Head that is to be the focus at this stage; a must-see destination for all visitors to the town. The aim of this ambitious program of work is to once again link the Pier and town in people’s thoughts and actions.

The area for development is a sea-side environment and all design solutions should be capable of withstanding the worst of the weather, capable of being used and visited throughout the year.
