Shortlist announced for Great Places Lakes & Dales Partnership (GPLD) flexible housing competition

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is pleased to announce the six practices shortlisted to participate in phase 2 of the Great Places Lakes and Dales Partnership (GPLD) flexible housing competition which seeks flexible housing designs for two sites within the GPLD area. 

GPLD is a partnership of Craven District Council (lead authority), South Lakeland District Council, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, and Lake District National Park Authority. 

   In March, competitors were invited to submit concepts designs for 2 rural sites within the area. Designs were assessed anonymously by the evaluation panel and three schemes were selected for each site. 

The 3 shortlisted teams for the Horton-in-Ribblesdale site are:

  • McGinlay Bell
  • McMullan Studio
  • Patalab Architecture

The 3 shortlisted teams for the Burneside site are: 

  • Hawkins Brown
  • Outpost with Giles Miller Studio
  • Weston Williamson + Partners
