Design Challenge:
The design competition is for a structure providing space for contemplation and exhibitions near the village of Montello in Nevada. The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled during the 2017-2018 academic year.

The waypoint will be close to an asphalt road, Nevada State Route 233, near the village of Montello. The site is a triangle shaped property about 7.5 acres (3 hectare) in a level part of the valley.

The site has soft sandy soil and the sparse vegetation is predominately comprised of sagebrush and a few different types of grasses. This needs to be taken into consideration for any area used as a walkway or plaza, but not built on. It is at an altitude of 4,800 ft (1,600 m) above sea level and surrounded by mountains approximately 7,000 to 8,000 ft (2,100 to 2,400 m) in elevation to the West and the Pilot Peak Range up to 10,700 ft (3,250 m) height to the East.
