Eligibility: To apply and to be eligible for the Scholarship, candidates must be U.S. citizens under 35 years old on January 1 of the competition year, and must have:
o A professional degree (BArch/MArch) from an accredited U.S. school of architecture and one year of full-time professional experience in a Massachusetts architecture firm as of January 1 of the competition year.
or –
o A professional degree (BArch/MArch) from an accredited Massachusetts school of architecture and one year of full-time professional experience in any architecture firm as of January 1 of the competition year.
Award: $37,000 traveling fellowship

The scholarship:
Every year, the Boston Society of Architects administers a prestigious two-stage annual design competition that this year ends with one young designer receiving a stipend of $37,000 to spend eight months traveling the world. Established in 1883, the Rotch Travelling Scholarship is the oldest program of its kind in the United States. The roster of Rotch scholars includes many of the country’s most distinguished architects, including Henry Bacon FAIA, Ralph Walker FAIA, Wallace Harrison FAIA, Louis Skidmore FAIA, Edward Durrell Stone FAIA, Gordon Bunshaft FAIA and Victor Lundy FAIA.
