• April 24, 2008 – General Design Parameters posted on City’s website. (Be sure to look at the website to review these Parameters.)
• May 2, 2008 – RFQ questions due.
• May 19, 2008 – RFQ responses due (3:00 p.m. PDT at Newport Beach City Clerk’s Office).
• May 19 to June 16, 2008 – Design Committee reviews responses to RFQ.
• June 16, 2008 – City Hall Design Committee recommends Architectural Firms for the Design Competition to City Council.
• June 24, 2008 – City Council considers and approves Architectural Firms for the Design Competition.
• September 19, 2008 – Architects’ Designs due.
• September 22 to November 3, 2008 – Design Committee holds public meetings to discuss and rank design(s) to forward to the City Council.
• November 11, 2008 – City Council hears public input on recommended design(s).
• November 25, 2008 – City Council selects design and awards design contract.
Design Challenge:
•• City Hall. City Hall is planned for the Central Parcel. The City believes that a revised needs assessment will show an 80,000 to 90,000 SF need, including a community room(s) eleme City Hall Design RFQ

• Review and utilize the City’s existing and anticipated data about its space and parking needs for the City Hall facility and the parking facility.

o Be prepared to advance forward into Phase II with a qualified, competent team that can complete all of Phases II and III;
o Utilize and present view simulations using modern computer program techniques;
o Prepare and give to the City a 10-15 minute “highlight” DVD for airing on the City’s government programming channel(s) that profiles and presents the team’s design concept (Note: o Prepare and present the submitted design before the Committee and City Council – this presentation should not last more than 45 minutes.
