New National Gallery and Ludwig Museum, Budapest

The first stage of the Liget Budapest International Design Competition resulted in 470 entries. Based on the decision of the jury, 6 entries have been invited to the second stage in the House of Hungarian Music competition and the Museum of Ethnography competition and 5 entries in the FotoMuzeum Budapest and Hungarian Museum of Architecture. However, the original, open competition for the New National Gallery in Budapest, Hungary, closed without a winner. Five honorable mentions were awarded, and a new, invited competition has been launched — an international, invited design competition with an open pre-qualification process for the design of the museum building. Up to ten teams will be chosen for the second competition stage.

The new timetable is as follows:

12/1/2014 – Prequalification deadline submission

12/19/2014 – Invitation to the qualified entrants

1/13/2015 – Q&A deadline

3/3/2015 – Design submission deadline

Awards:

1st prize: 65 000 EUR
