Design challenge:

The Victorian Government has committed to a $1 million prize pool for an international design competition to help rejuvenate and restore Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Street Station. The Government will be looking for the best ideas from around the world to re-energise the station and its surrounds while making sure integral heritage features are maintained. Designs will be expected to address the station’s transport function, heritage requirements, urban design and integration with its surrounds as well as providing a value for money  proposal.

Work is currently under way to consult with key stakeholders and write a detailed project brief for competition entrants.
