LSE Students’ Centre Competition Winner and Exhibition Announced

The six finalist schemes for the competition to design a new Students’ Centre for the London School of Economics are to be exhibited in London.  The designs will be displayed throughout September at New London Architecture, the Centre for London’s Built Environment.

The exhibition follows the recent announcement of Dublin based practice O’Donnell & Tuomey Architects as the winners of the competition. Their design was described as “a building that will glow with light and activity at night, and be engaging, open and social at all times”.   The new Students’ Centre will play a vital role in enhancing the student experience and in furthering LSE’s aim of creating a world class estate.

The other five finalists schemes are by : Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, London ; David Chipperfield Architects, London ; de Rijke Marsh Morgan, London ; Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, London ; and 3XN A/S, Copenhagen.
